I love my puppy dog!

Yep...it's true...I love my puppy dog. Look at how cute she is!!! It took a little bit of adjustment, but I am glad I have her in my life. We're still working on the housebreaking, but she's doing well & growing!!! She gained 2 lbs in just one week. She gets her second set of shots on August 3rd & then I'll schedule her to get spayed. I have even been thinking of getting another puppy so that she has a companion, but I need to figure out what I'm gonna do first as far as travel nursing.

I want to do it, but it's hard to leave my comfort zone as you all know. I may try out working agency at other hospitals just to get my feet wet before jumping into travel nursing. Then I think why not just stay where I'm at? My co-workers are like a second family. We have fun working together - it's all good. Is more money worth giving up a comfortable atmosphere & a flexible schedule? Will I ever have the answers??? lol

I worked 4 nights in a row this past week. I'm off this entire week - just for the fun of it. I really need to straighten up my house!

My patients are starting to become a blur to me. Well, not the patient themself, but the memory of them. I've been off since Thursday & can't really think of anything to say about the patients I cared for.

Oh, there is one that stands out. She's been in the hospital for almost a month for respiratory issues. For some reason the doctor has her on lantus insulin (for diabetes). Well, the dose was too high. One morning her blood sugar was 12. 12!!!!! She was non-responsive, but breathing. We gave her 1/2 amp of D50 & got her to come around. Looking back, I am proud of how well it was handled & really glad the patient was ok. Needless to say, we got the amount of Lantus she receives decreased & the night I had her - I was having her eat pudding & jello so she wouldn't drop by morning time.

I'm halfway through my Professional Nursing Concepts class. I don't like it even though I have an A average. I don't like the amount of time it takes to do the classwork. So after this semester, I'm going to put it on hold for now.

That's about all that's going on! Have a good week!

Your puppy is soooooooo cute!!!  trained my chihuahuas on the puppy pads, but I think they were harder to get trained going outside because I did use them...Just my opinion...I know one thing...The pads make it alot easier to clean up if you have to work all day!
I had so much trouble with my chihuahuas teething on my wood furniture..I finally had to get the stop chewing stuff to spray on it for puppies! I think I have puppy teeth marks on everything.
But they can be so much comfort and give you so much love...
love ya,
carlene

He weighs 30 lbs....
We named him Jackson....
Your career sounds hectic.
Nurses in my book are Heavens Angels.......
They do all the work.........
The doctors get the glory.....
But its the nurses that deserve the honors.
